Last week was IT Professionals Day, but we should really celebrate George every day because he helps keep our school technology running smoothly and we are so thankful for that! Thank you for your positive energy and help! We appreciate you!

The first day of Chess Club was a hit!
David, chess master, brought some cool prizes for future Quiz Bowl winners. Thank you to David and the Kevan family for helping at Chess Club each week.
Our 4th grade students are exploring their Energy Conversions unit! This week, they built simple electrical systems powered by solar panels. Hands-on projects like this help students better understand how energy works in larger electrical systems.
September 17th is Constitution Day. Students learned all about the constitution's birthday and participated in related activities. All classrooms learned about Citizenship Day as well!
Lincoln High School seniors came to visit ACE on Tuesday. They played inside and outside with the kids! Everyone had a lot of fun! Thanks for visiting!

The third graders started their first science unit over balancing forces! They had to do experiment with using force on blocks.
Art is a fun experience to be creative and show your off your artistic talents! These projects turned out awesome!

Third graders are learning multiplication and working with arrays! They had to build arrays for different numbers to create desk arrangements. They learned lots!

The Roosevelt High School Homecoming Royalty came to visit on Wednesday. We were excited to welcome back an ACE alum, Carson. We love seeing familiar faces in our halls! The kids had fun with these seniors from RHS.
The 4th graders had their first counseling lesson with Mrs. Sweeter over "walking in someone's shoes"!
First graders started their math games this week!
Third graders enjoyed their first STEM Fridays last week and used VR (virtual reality) goggles to travel the world and swim with sharks! They also got to build marble mazes and made Buildzi towers! So cool! All of these items were donated through grants Miss Leloux applied for from the Sioux Falls Public Schools Education Foundation!
Family time is a great time for our students to learn social skills and build friendships across grade levels. Each family is assigned to a teacher consisting of 3-4 from each grade. They do activities and learning together all year! This past week they went outside to interact with chalk and bubbles! Next week they will learn about growth mindset!
Congrats to our High Flyer Winners this week! They demonstrated skills of responsibility, respectfulness, and safety! Way to go!
Our first Friday for swimming at Embe is September 5th! Be sure to bring your swim bag with your swimsuit and towel! Let's have fun!!
