This week is National School Counseling week. RF/CC would not be the same without our amazing counselor, Miss Sonja Smith. We'd like to take this time to recognize and celebrate the incredible work she does each and every day for our students. 2nd and 3rd grade challenge center classes have started our Brain Interim strong! 💪 Students have already learned what the three main parts of the brain are and their functions, the four lobes of the cerebrum, and how messages are sent to and from the brain. 🧠 We even get to do some fun games that focus in on the use of each specific part of our brains. Ask you learner what their favorite part has been so far!
Tomorrow we will hear from an ER doctor and later this week will hear about brain diseases and go on the long-awaited field trip to the Sanford PROMISE Lab! 🥼

Friday, January 23, 2026, will be a Remote Learning Day in the Sioux Falls School District!
iPads and Chromebooks were sent home with each student earlier today. We will not have in-person learning in the schools, but students are expected to connect to their Canvas account from home for assignments and learning resources. They have practiced this at school and know what is expected of them.
