We are thrilled to share that Mrs. Iverson has been selected as a National Book Foundation Teacher Fellow for the 2023/24 school year! The NBF Teacher Fellowship supports and celebrates 6th-12th grade teachers using innovative methods to make reading for pleasure a part of their students’ school day experience. Over the course of the school year, Mrs. Iverson will implement a reading program that focuses on the joy of reading, helping students find and read books that speak to them, and supporting the development of lifelong reading habits.

Fall sports start on Monday, August 28! ! If a student is interested in playing football, volleyball, or running cross country, they must have a sports physical! The Power of Partnership is highlighted, once again, to help SFSD families get connected to affordable internet. The SF Area Community Foundation is investing $50,000 to enroll households in the Affordable Connectivity Program (AFP). SD Voices for Peace leads the effort.
Voices for Peace is working with SFSD schools to inform families of this program. An enrollment specialist will continue to meet families during school events like parent-teacher conferences, success nights, etc. Eligible families should enroll today! GetInternet.gov
Calling all income eligible SFSD children who will be 4-yrs-old by September 1, 2023! We're recruiting students for FREE preschool with an event on July 5 or 6, 8am-4pm, at the SFSD Learning Lab on the Southeast Tech Campus - 2205 N. Career Ave. Tell your neighbors and friends!

Around 100 students were recognized during out 8th Grade Honors Night in May. Students were recognized for excelling in attendance, academics, and participation in a multitude of clubs and organizations.
