6th grade Social Studies got hands-on today with a mummification demonstration! Students walked through each step of the ancient process—from organ removal techniques to carefully wrapping the head like real Egyptian embalmers. History definitely came to life! 🏺🧠✨

Congratulations to our talented Eagles who took part in the All-City Honor Band! 🌟 Students from across Sioux Falls came together for seven weeks of rehearsals and finished with an unforgettable performance alongside the Augustana Band. 🎵 Conducted by our very own Mr. Rygg, they performed with excellence !

Our 8th grade choir students gave an incredible performance at Jefferson! 🎶 It was the perfect way to start getting ready for high school music!

🏈 The football season has come to an end, and what a season it was! Both our 7th and 8th grade teams showed incredible growth, teamwork, and determination from start to finish. We’re so proud of their hard work, improvement, and sportsmanship on and off the field!

🏐 McGovern volleyball players had an unforgettable experience at the University of South Dakota! They explored campus, connected with current students, and brought the energy cheering on the Coyotes against the Jackrabbits! A huge thank-you to Promising Futures for making this amazing opportunity possible for our student-athletes!

🎃📚 Mrs. Wolles brought Pumpkin Jack to life in ELA! Each class joined in a cozy read-aloud, hunting for sensory words and spotting figurative language hidden throughout the story. To wrap it up, she revealed her own “Pumpkin Jack” — a real pumpkin in the process of rotting, just like in the book! 🍂

🎤 The Expressions Show Choir at GMMS has been hard at work learning new choreography for this year’s show — and it’s looking amazing!
We were lucky to have guest choreographer Mark Quamme, who also choreographs for Jefferson, come in and share his talent and energy with our students. Big thanks to Mark for helping us take it to the next level! 💜🎶

🎶 Last Friday, our 8th grade band students had an awesome opportunity to play with the Marching Cavaliers as part of the Pep Band!
They joined in on the excitement, performed the Jefferson High School fight song, and got a front-row seat to the halftime show during the seniors' final game. What an unforgettable night of music, school spirit, and memories! 🎵
